Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Mobility, Surveillance and Bombers (MS&B) division is seeking passionate, engaged, and qualified First Line Structural Engineering Managers to support the Interiors and Payloads Capability located in either Everett, WA or Oklahoma City, OK.
This is a multi-function Engineering Organization with a mission statement to provide Interiors engineering solutions via a highly skilled flexible workforce and cutting-edge technologies for the advancement of the Boeing Enterprise. The candidate will lead a team with a principal goal of executing flawlessly in supporting BDS’s Interiors capability development. This includes supporting programs from proposal stage through design maturity with a focus on driving improved productivity, developing innovative solutions, lowering costs, increasing quality, growing a knowledge-based product development system and developing our employees.

The successful candidate will have strong engineering expertise, ability to guide multi-faceted projects to completion, possess outstanding communication skills, and demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships. This position requires extensive Boeing internal customer interaction from diverse organizations. The candidate will be responsible for providing strategic direction to non-management teams.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering.
- 5+ years of engineering experience.
- 3+ years of experience leading or managing engineering teams.
- Willing and able to travel domestically 10% of the time.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in Interiors or Payloads either commercial or military.
- 3+ years of experience Cost Account Manager (CAM).
- 3+ years of experience developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with senior executives, customers, stakeholders, peers, and partners.
- Experience using Boeing Non-Recurring Product Development (NRPD) or equivalent Boeing Development Processes.
- Experience using analytical, collaboration, communication and organizational skills.
- Experience in any/all of the following: Interiors engineering design and project leadership within a production system; Direct engagement working with/for aerospace suppliers or airlines; Validating/demonstrating compliance to regulatory requirements; Working with regulators; Design for manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
- Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Structural Mechanical Design and Analysis.
- Executes engineering release plans using Boeing best practices of full kit and work in process approaches in both mechanical structural design and structures analysis.
- Coordinates with manufacturing, systems engineering, and other stakeholder product teams daily to find integrated solutions.
- Responsible for developing, communicating, and meeting team First Time Quality, technical content, cost and schedule priorities.
- Communicates cost and schedule progress to program leadership daily utilizing earned value management practices.
