PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree or Diploma in in Civil Engineering or related
• 5 years of post-education experience in structural engineering or construction, with an understanding of structural restoration
• Able to conceptualize in three dimensions
• A self-starter who learns quickly and works hard
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Willing to work overtime at some odd hours as needed to meet site requirements
• Team player with ability to work independently with minimum direction
• Aptitude for working with existing facilities and comfortable working at heights
• Valid Driver’s License

The Structural Restoration Engineer will assist our team in the evaluation, assessment, and the restoration of existing commercial and industrial structures. The successful candidate is comfortable working with clients, communicating with contractors and confident working on active construction sites. A commitment to providing high responsive and first-rate client service is essential, as is the technical excellence to deliver practical, creative solutions. Previous experience in structural restoration and construction projects are highly valued.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Site assessment and evaluation of existing buildings and structures
• Formulate building science and structural rehabilitation programs
• Contract administration including preparation of bidding documents/specifications and drawings
• Preparation of condition assessment reports and written recommendations
• Tendering projects to suitable contractors
• Construction review and documentation
