Description:

Lochsa Engineering has an opportunity for a qualified Structural Senior Project Engineer to join our structural team. Candidates will have an opportunity to work on large, moderate and small projects of various building and construction types for concrete, steel,masonry, cold-formed steel, wood, high seismic and high wind load structures. You will be a contributing team member performing engineering related work with internal and external disciplines during planning, design and construction administration phases of projects.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Professional Engineer’s License (PE) and/or Structural Engineer’s License (SE)
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
  • Minimum 5+ years of building design experience
  • Advanced knowledge of current industry software, including ETABS, SAP, RAM Structural System, RAM Concept, RISA, SAFE, AutoCAD, Revit
  • Ability to understand and interpret current building codes and adopted standards
  • Positive and professional attitude with excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with co-workers and clients in person or virtually.
  • U.S. Citizen, U.S. Resident with a valid green card, or legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs engineering analysis and design for structural elements and components
  • Candidates will be able to work independently as well as collaboratively with other team members on multiple projects concurrently
  • Collaborate with architects and other design professional
  • Attend design and construction meetings
  • Assist Project Managers with analysis and design on large to moderate projects
  • Assign tasks and direct project engineering staff with design and analysis
  • Coordinate with BIM staff on development of construction documents
  • Contractor assistance with interpretation of construction documents and resolution of field issues
  • Review shop drawings
  • Perform structural observation
