Description:

An opportunity has arisen for experienced mental health practitioners with interest in working with people with personality difficulties within a Community Mental Health Team, West of Northamptonshire based at Campbell House, Northampton.
SCM is an evidenced based approach that enables mental health practitioners to work effectively with people with difficulties related to complex emotional needs who may have a diagnosis of emotionally unstable personality disorder.
You will work to deliver Structured Clinical Management (SCM) to a defined population of service users within a Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) to enhance the treatment for people with personality difficulties.
You will work with service users by applying the principles of the SCM programme, ensuring effective and evidenced based care is delivered to achieve positive outcomes through assessment, 1:1 and group interventions.
You will have a high level of emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills, reasoning, and negotiation skills to establish therapeutic relationships with people with complex emotional difficulties. The ability to judge, assess and manage risk with the support from others as needed is essential.
You will demonstrate a commitment to delivering high quality, positive and compassionate care for this client group. You will be working with a wide range of staff within the CMHT and be part of a multi-disciplinary team, undertaking the role of the clinical co-ordinator on occasions.
You will be a role model and contribute a sound knowledge base of the application of SCM to contribute to the care planning of people with personality difficulties. You will support the team in identification of this treatment and support others to further develop their therapeutic skills for this service user group.
NHFT is an integrated primary care and mental health Trust, providing physical, mental health and specialty services in both hospital settings and out in the community. Because we put the person at the centre of all we do, we focus on delivering care that is as easy to access as possible. This means many of our services can be provided at home, work or in schools. We also provide health services to various prisons and detention centres in Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire.
NHFT promotes a culture of learning to improve the care and safety of our patients and staff, which focuses on people who enable our Trust to be ‘outstanding’ by supporting opportunity, innovation, development and growth.
