REQUIREMENTS:

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:

  • Hands-on multi-skilled practical aerostructures assembler/ fitter.
  • Experience in the use of composite (CFRP) materials and their properties.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of production/maintenance processes to high quality standards.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and interpret requirements into finished products.
  • Demonstrated experience pro-actively solving technical problems.
  • Quality conscious working method and organised approach to tasks.
  • Conducting and recording of installation and system integration tests.
  • Enjoy using own initiative, working unsupervised and taking responsibility for own task package.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Academic qualifications in an avionic/electronic engineering discipline (NVQ level 3 in Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent experience).
  • IOSH or equivalent qualification.
  • Time served apprenticeship in avionic/electronic manufacture / installation / test.
  • Previous experience in Aerospace sector.

Responsibilities:

JOB PURPOSE:

The scope of this role is to manufacture to time, cost and quality, the new HAPS Zephyr aircraft, and associated Ground Support Equipment to fulfil the HAPS Global Business Case.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The manufacture of aerostructures (both sub-assembly and primary assembly).
  • The use of measuring equipment and tooling to ensure parts meet drawing requirements.
  • The use and mixing of resins and chemicals to bond components where applicable.
  • Maintenance of production build records.
  • Adherence to Health and Safety processes.
  • Self-certification of work completed (post internal training).
  • Contribute to Continuous Improvement of the production system.
  • Applying Problem Solving skills and supporting corrective action delivery where applicable.
  • Safe handling and protection of very fragile and flexible components
