Description:

The Alfred Wegener Institute Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research (AWI) is a member of the Helmholtz Association (HGF) and funded by federal and state government. AWI focuses on polar and marine research in a variety of disciplines such as biology, oceanography, geology, geochemistry and geophysics thus allowing multidisciplinary approaches to scientific goals.
Student Assistant (m/f/d) for communication activities of the EU projects POLARIN and the International Cooperation Unit

REQUIREMENTS

  • Fluent English (written and oral)
  • Enrolled in university programme on natural or social sciences
  • Basic ICT and digital literacy (e.g., ability to use office software such as MS Word, Powerpoint, Excel, web-based tools such as search engines, cloud services)
  • Interest in polar regions and related science themes
  • Team-minded

Responsibilities:

We are looking for a Student Assistant to support us with the communication tasks that large international collaboration projects such as POLARIN entail.

Some examples of tasks include (but are not limited to):

  • Creating series of posts in social accounts (Facebook, X, others)
  • Drafting news articles for the website/social accounts
  • Assistance in event organisation (e.g., workshops, meetings)
