Topsoe Battery Materials, a subsidiary of Topsoe, is primarily focused on producing cathode active materials for use in Li-ion cells & Na-ion cells. We are based at the Topsoe headquarters just outside of Lyngby.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

As we expand our activities, we are looking for a student assistant to support electrode & cell production for our 1 Ah pouch cell line roughly 15 hours / week. This will involve slurry preparation & characterization, roll-to-roll slot die coating, calendering, and processing the electrodes into pouch cells using our cell assembly equipment.
You will be part of the cell development team, who’s primary function is to validate our material and give critical feedback to our synthesis & production teams to optimize the material in various cell formats.
As much of our work will be new to you, you must have a strong aptitude for learning and a practical mindset. You will use and apply your knowledge and curriculum learnings to analyze dispersion and flow characteristics of battery slurries, optimize flow geometries and patterns in a slot die head, and determine ideal porosity conditions for dry electrodes through calendering experiments. You will be a hands-on learner who is motivated to both run electrode trials designed by the scientists and engineers in the team as well as suggest system improvements either in execution or design.
