About the Portfolio
The Operations Portfolio enables an integrated, enterprise-wide delivery for best practice student and staff experiences.
The Portfolio incorporates the following business units: Enterprise Projects and Business Performance (EPBP), Communications, People, Information and Technology Services (ITS), Office of the Chief Operating Officer, Procurement and Vietnam Operations.
The Portfolio houses significant drivers and delivery components across the staff and student journeys and enables the overall experience for both groups. The Portfolio is integral in bringing the RMIT strategy to life, across the globe. Each of these functions supports the global operations of the University both directly as well as through its controlled entities.
The Information Technology Services (ITS) function provides RMIT University with current and emerging Technology systems and services. Our vision of “unleashing technologies to enable great experiences for RMIT communities” supports a proactive and leading-edge technology ecosystem, mindset and delivery empowering the advancement of the University’s commitment to advancing Lifelong Learners.
The Role
Join the team as our Student Experienced Advisor!
In this role, you’ll work closely with the Student Experience leadership team to build relationships, gather student feedback, and ensure smooth communication between different teams. Plus, you’ll play a key role in organizing our quarterly planning events, fortnightly showcases, and yearly hackathons.
We’re looking for someone with outstanding organisation skills, exceptional communication skills and experience in working with people across an organisation from Executive to Subject Matter Specialists.

Skills & Experience
- Demonstrated expertise designing and developing a portal or site for communications across internal teams and customers.
- Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional standard of communications to a wide and diverse audience.
- Demonstrated ability to work with senior management to assist the communication of key strategies and initiatives that improve understanding across the organisation.
- Ability to provide insight into the needs of a range of audiences and provide expert guidance on the design, structure, pitch format and overall presentation of content.
- Outstanding presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrate a variety of knowledge and experience to improve usage and engagement through the development and application of guidelines and standards.
- Experience providing communications to support change, transformation and/or major projects.
- Understanding of higher education, student experience and ability to connect with students to capture their voice and perspective highly advantageous.
- Bring energy and enthusiasm to all that you do. Passionate about the lived experience of student technology.
- Superior planning and organisational skills. Ability to research and formulate innovative approaches to work.
- Excellent interpersonal, stakeholder management and community engagement skills.
- Ability to work autonomously. Take accountability and be solution focused.
- Proficient in MS Office applications. SharePoint, Confluence, Jira and Power BI experience is an advantage or a willingness to learn is a must.
