We are looking for an individual to support IFSA’s programmes in Buenos Aires as Student Experience Coordinator. This position provides pre arrival, on site and cultural support for undergraduate students; organizes co-curricular activities and contributes to the overall operations. This position will have work cycles that are more intensive requiring at times evening and weekend hours. This position will have an exclusivity clause.
The Student Experience Coordinator works closely with all members of the Buenos Aires-based Team, as well as with global colleagues from Health & Safety, Academic Programs, Student Engagement, Institutional Engagement and Marketing.

Requirements, Work Experience and Education

  • 5 years of work experience in sectors such as higher education, tourism, event planning, or hospitality
  • Strong time management and planning skills, with the ability to work independently to execute time-sensitive tasks and duties successfully
  • Strong attention to detail in creating internal and external documents and in managing program and administrative data
  • Strong skills for clear and effective communication with colleagues, academics, students and external vendors. Verbally and in writing in Spanish and English
  • Strong digital competencies, including the ability to engage with multiple systems and our database platform, Salesforce
  • Ability to cultivate and model practices and behaviors that reflect IFSA’s organizational commitments of inclusive excellence, intercultural agility, individualized learning and enduring impact
  • Proven ability to work well in a team and to engage effectively with colleagues across an organization
  • Ability to engage with and support students with diverse lived experiences including students of color, students with mental and physical disabilities, first-generation college students, and LGBTQIA+ students
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt and thrive in ambiguous and changing situations and to shift focus and reprioritize work as needed
  • An ability to respond calmly and professionally to emergency situations
  • General knowledge of university system and student life Argentina a plus
  • Undergraduate degree
  • The legal right to work in Argentina is required
  • Advanced proficiency of written and oral English language
  • Experience with social media platforms used by US college aged students
  • Deep knowledge of Microsoft Office systems including PowerPoint, Word, Outlook required.
  • Advanced skills in working with Excel including design of pivot tables.
  • Knowledge of CRMs, specifically Salesforce desired

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Student Experience Coordinator to ensure the highest quality of service and attention to IFSA students.
  • Primary point of contact for all student visa processes, updates and administration
  • Close collaboration with Academic Advisors/Student Engagement on pre arrival processes: pre arrival webinars; visas; housing; medical forms
  • Assistance with daily quarantine and welfare check ins
  • Design host family recruitment strategy aligned with HSS guidelines; organize in-person orientations for new host families and training meetings for current host families, with focus on IFSA’s commitments; collect data on student feedback on local housing placements with the goal of continual improvement
  • Coordinate and support excursions, co-curricular activities, orientations, and other events as needed. Design semester calendar of events aligned with IFSA’s cultural engagement objectives.
  • Monitor student’s integration and well-being through regular communication and campus visits
  • Support the planning and delivery of custom programs
  • Contribute to emergency response and student incident management based on established protocol, and participate in after-hours emergency phone rotation. This includes occasionally accompanying students, especially those staying in IFSA apartments, to the hospital outside business hours.
  • Initial point of contact for general student inquiries
  • Duties assigned by Director, IFSA Programs in BA, to assist with student services and general BA operations.
  • Coordinate archives of student stories/testimonies/photos for Marketing purposes
  • Support Director to ensure center meets student evaluation return rates – programs, housing, classes and excursions. Design action plans to improve student experience semester/semester.
  • Other duties and projects, as assigned, may include opportunities to work with Marketing, Student Engagement, and Institutional Engagement.
