Responsibilities:

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a full time, permanent Kaiārahi, Tauria - Student Interest and Conflict Resolution Adviser to join the Tauria - Student Interest and Conflict Resolution team in Te Purengi - Student Experience and Wellbeing.
The role will be responsible to support the work of the Kaiwhakahaere, Tauria - Manager, Student Interest and Conflict Resolution managing student issues, behavioural risks, concerns, complaints to support a safe and inclusive community.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and assistance to students and staff in areas of student safety, behavioural risk, interpersonal conflict, and other student concerns.
  • Effectively gather and assess information, as required, to ensure that concerns, complaints, and conflict involving students are resolved at the earliest, and where appropriate, at the most informal level.
  • Undertake complex case and complaints management, behavioural risk assessment and interventions to support behaviour change.
  • Respond to sexually harmful behaviours to ensure students are aware of their support and reporting options, in an appropriate and timely manner.
  • Provide facilitation and conflict resolution where appropriate to assist the student and staff community to address concerns through alternative avenues.
  • Training and delivery of educational programs under the direction of the Kaiwhakahaere, Tauria - Manager, Student Interest and Conflict Resolution to contribute to safe and respectful communities.
