QUALIFICATIONS
Post-secondary education or related experience in administrative support, student support, tenancy coordination, social work, property management, newcomer support, and/or the delivery and management of services/supports
Proven experience (5+ years) in various positions, preferably in a coordination or program delivery role with supervision of staff (1-5)
- Strong understanding of customer service strategies in order to assist and work with students, families, landlords, and community partners.
- Lived experience and/or strong understanding of newcomer and international student challenges
- Proficient in critical thinking, communication strategies, interpersonal skills, and relationship-building abilities
- Ability to manage difficult conversations using empathy, discretion, active listening, mediation, and conflict resolution skills
- Effective policy compliance, data management, and reporting
- Proficient in the use of Office computer software applications including word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and database programs

Student Housing Strategy and Implementation
- Manage a comprehensive housing strategy considering students’ diverse needs, focusing on affordability, accessibility, and proximity to campus facilities.
- Execute housing, prioritizing both optimal resource utilization and the creation of safe living environments for students.
- Collaborate with local housing providers, fostering strong partnerships to secure suitable accommodations, negotiate contracts, oversee inspections, and promptly address housing-related concerns.
- Continuously assess housing-managed service options, seeking opportunities for improvement and expansion to meet evolving student demographics and preferences.
- Serve as a resource and advisor for students seeking housing assistance, providing guidance, information, and support throughout the application process
Responsibilities:

- Deliver programs and initiatives that enhance the overall student experience off-campus.
- Foster a sense of community and belonging among students living off-campus.
- Provide support and resources to students facing housing-related issues.
- Encourage participation in off-campus activities to facilitate strong community support networks, and maintain and develop a sense of belonging in students
Student Engagement and Well-Being
- Build trust and confidence by demonstrating tact, professionalism, and sensitivity while working with a diverse student population, enhancing the student experience
- Promote student engagement and involvement in extracurricular activities, clubs, and organizations.
- Support student well-being by providing access to counseling services, health resources, and recreational opportunities.
- Create a continuous culture of well-being by focusing on well-being at every point of the student journey on multiple levels, including emotional, physical, social, intellectual, financial.
- Commit to equity, diversity, inclusion, and the promotion of a respectful and collegial learning and working environment.
- Communicate proactively and regularly to ensure that students have timely access to information and resources they need
Collaboration and Partnerships
- Collaborate with other departments, academic faculty, and external partners to create a holistic student life experience.
- Maintain relationships with local housing providers, landlords, and community organizations to facilitate student housing needs.
Data Analysis and Reporting
- Record Management and maintenance
- Gather and analyze data related to student housing and off-campus experiences.
- Prepare regular reports on student life activities, outcomes, and areas for improvement.
- Other duties as assigned.
