Summary:
Rush Medical College is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Student Research Coordinator to join our team. This role is pivotal in providing comprehensive support to medical students engaged in research activities. The Student Research Coordinator will act as a liaison between students and faculty, maintain the research database, assist with regulatory compliance, and offer guidance on project design and execution. This position requires a proactive individual with strong organizational skills and a student-centered approach.
Required Job Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in a relevant field
Experience in research, project management, or academic administration.
Familiarity with research compliance and regulatory processes (CITI, IRB).
Excellent organizational and database management skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Demonstrated commitment to student service and support.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
Advanced degree preferred.
Experience in an academic medical setting.
Proficiency in relevant software and database management tools.
Responsibilities:
Faculty and Student Liaison:
Facilitate connections between students and faculty members identified for research mentorship.
Proactively identify potential faculty mentors in various departments.
Foster and maintain strong relationships with faculty to support student research opportunities.
Research Database Management:
Keep the research database up to date with current projects, faculty interests, and student involvement.
Ensure accurate and timely data entry and maintain the integrity of research records.
Research Support Contact:
Serve as the primary contact person for all student research inquiries and support needs.
Provide guidance and resources for students navigating research processes.
Regulatory Compliance Assistance:
Assist students with the completion of Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) and Institutional Review Board (IRB) requirements.
Develop and distribute handouts and resources to streamline the CITI and IRB application processes.
Student Engagement:
Provide friendly, forward-facing support to students, addressing their needs promptly and professionally.
Organize workshops, seminars, and informational sessions to enhance student research skills and knowledge.
This position will report to the Vice Dean of Research with a dotted line to the Vice Dean of Education.
