Job Summary: The Student Services Assistant aids in a variety of activities associated with student services for a department or college.
Additional Department Summary: Assists with the coordination of the department’s academic programs. Oversees prospective student recruitment activities. Provides administrative support for the Graduate and Undergraduate Program Directors. Assists ECE students with registration problems. Performs ECE degree audits. Advises ECE students as needed. Serves as the main point of contact for ECE students who are interested in obtaining a double major or participating in the Accelerated Master’s Program.
Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED.
Skills and Knowledge: Experience working in an academic setting. Knowledge in the usage of personal computers and standard application software (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Good organizational, communication, and public relation skills. Punctual and reliable. Efficient and accurate computer and data entry skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic setting. Ability to research and prepare comprehensive reports. Highly organized. Ability to work at a rapid pace with numerous interruptions. Ability to cope with stressful conditions. Demonstrated tact, versatility, and adaptability. Ability to demonstrate a high degree of self-motivation and directional initiative.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with UA operating software programs such as Banner, Astra, myBama, Courseleaf, Online Syllabus Management System, Slate, PageUp, OnBase, Concur, buyBAMA, etc.
