This position is presently located at the St. Thomas/Woodstock site.
This position is anticipated to extend until December 31, 2024, subject to availability of work and funding.
Southwestern Public Health is currently looking to fill one (1) student position to support the Corporate Service functions with respect to AI integration and strategy development. Working for the Manager, Strategic Initiatives to help facilitate stakeholder engagement among staff over AI opportunities and help navigate AI in program work.
Essential Qualifications • Currently enrolled in a master’s program focusing on public health, evaluation and/or research. • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with others in a mentored team setting. • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in an environment of competing demands. • Excellent computer skills specifically in the utilization of Microsoft Office Suite including: Word, Excel and Power Point Skills. • Facilitation skills. • Effective research abilities. • Must be capable of establishing positive interpersonal relationships and able to work as an effective multidisciplinary team member. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Excellent organizational, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. • Commitment to self-reflection, professional growth and development. • Valid Ontario driver’s license and reliable access to an insured working vehicle. • A criminal reference check completed within the last six (6) months from a Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC), inclusive of vulnerable sector screening, will be required of the successful candidate.
Terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Employment Agreement.
Salary Range: $20/hr (70 hours in a two-week period).
Vacation pay each pay period.
A criminal reference check completed within the last six (6) months from a Canadian Police Information Centre (CPID), inclusive of vulnerable sector screening, will be required of the successful candidate.
Immunization Requirements: Provide documentation you have received two (2) doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, plus at least one booster dose, and acknowledgement to follow Southwestern Public Health’s policies and processes related to COVID-19 management in the workplace.
