Responsibilities:
The Subject Matter Expert Visual Arts 7–10 is responsible for providing expertise to support the syllabus development for the curriculum reform process. The role involves providing leadership and advice regarding the development of the Visual Arts 7–10 syllabuses. The role requires working collaboratively with the team of Subject Matter Experts across the eight learning areas to ensure that there is consistency and coherence in the alignment of the Visual Arts 7–10 syllabuses with expected standards of achievement and sequencing across all syllabuses.
At NESA we are presently focused on an exciting, transformational program of curriculum reform, and this role is a great opportunity to lead the work of passionate educators.
On a day-to-day basis you will be responsible for:
- providing strong and effective leadership of the development of the Visual Arts 7–10 syllabuses in relation to the curriculum reform process.
- preparing reports, briefings and data in relation to the evidence base that supports appropriately sequenced and quality Visual Arts development to support syllabus development.
- providing high level advice and expertise regarding the expected levels of Visual Arts in 7–10 aligned to the findings of the Curriculum Review.
- working collaboratively with Subject Matter Experts across key learning areas and cross curriculum teams to ensure cohesion, alignment and quality in the development of syllabuses.
- providing advice in regard to national and international research that informs best practice in Visual Arts 7–10 learning.
