As a subject matter expert at Cognite, you will leverage your domain expertise in the drilling and wells sector to play a crucial role in working together with our clients to identify key value opportunities that will impact their business, defining and deliver on relevant use cases, support technical delivery teams (data scientists and data engineers) in their deliveries from ensuring data quality to use case results interpretation, and provide insights on potential strategies and obstacles.
This position requires a strong domain and technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to coach and collaborate effectively. You will be a part of the Data Science team that plays a crucial role in defining and building data-driven solutions that empower our clients to make impactful business decisions. The Data Science team consists of both generalists and subject matter experts in areas such as Oil and Gas, Power & Utilities, and Manufacturing.

WE BELIEVE MOST OF THESE SHOULD MATCH YOUR EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field (e.g., Geology, Geophysics, Computer Science, Engineering)
  • A minimum of 5+ years of full-time work experience as an engineer, consultant in Oil and Gas, drilling and wells domain
  • Strong understanding of industrial processes in Oil and Gas with proven understanding of the current challenges and opportunities digitalization can provide to solve them.
  • Strong interest and familiarity with relevant technology, such as Big Data; Digital Twins; and Machine Learning
  • Ability to lead requirements and value definition workshops
  • Experience with Python, data analysis is a plus
  • Excellent presentation and coaching skills
  • Self-motivated with a results-oriented mindset
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Enjoys the responsibility of being the domain expert and facilitating dialogue between a broad range of stakeholders
  • Proficiency in English is a requirement
