Description:
THE OPPORTUNITY
Due to high current workloads and a robust future project pipeline, we are actively seeking a new Submissions Manager (Content/Proposal Writer) to join our Utilities Strategy and Growth team. In this role, you will focus on crafting compelling tenders and proposals across the water, energy, and telecommunications sectors. Collaborating closely with bid managers in our Utilities pre-contracts teams and subject matter experts (SMEs) from our operational units, you will be responsible for creating and refining Expressions of Interest, Requests for Tenders, and other bid-related documents for projects in Australia and New Zealand.
A day in the life of this role includes but is not limited to:
- Writing and production of compliant and compelling client-focused bid submissions, presentations and other bid and new business-related content aligned to agreed bid strategies.
- Working with SMEs to develop attributes for submissions, with time and effort right sized for the value, complexity and procurement method engaged.
- Compiling all required documentation (including schedules, price and commercial responses etc.) to ensure complete, compliant submissions.
- Preparing bid writing plans, liaising with contributors to ensure timely input and completion of tender sections.
- Contributing to the development of win strategies and ensuring they are clearly articulated and backed up by evidence throughout our submission.
- Working with graphic designers to devise submission look and feel and visual content to enhance and support written responses.
ABOUT YOU
Our ideal candidate possesses a creative and innovative mindset, you confidently challenge and expand ideas whilst actively contributing to the creation of successful concepts and solutions. You have a flexible approach, readily diving into tasks as needed to ensure completion. Rooted in a strong research ethos fueled by natural curiosity, you are driven to explore and discover, consistently seeking new knowledge and insights. Some other key skills we are looking for include:
- A track record of producing winning tenders and proposals (construction sector experience is desirable, although not essential to success).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail and a strong command of MS Office tools and Adobe-Pro.
- Strong organisational and efficient time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks to deadline and manage multiple pieces of work.
- Ability to evaluate information quickly, identify key issues and formulate conclusions based on sound, practical judgement, experience and common sense.
