Substance Abuse Counselor - Behavioral Health

We Are Hiring:

• Department: Behavioral Health
• Schedule: Part time, 16 hours weekly
• Hospital: St Francis Hospital
• Location: 3237 S 16th StreetMilwaukee

What You Will Do:

Provide substance abuse counseling services.

• Provide assigned patient counseling services and case management.
• Systematically and continually assess the patient’s coping mechanisms and progress.
• Utilize appropriate teaching methods and/or referral sources.
• Coordinate patient’s discharge planning needs and readiness for discharge with other healthcare members.

What You Will Need:

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

• One or more of the following required:
• Licensed Clinical Counselor credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Marriage & Family Therapy, Professional Counseling & Social Work obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Counselor credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Marriage & Family Therapy, Professional Counseling & Social Work obtained prior to hire dale or job transfer date.
• Social Worker credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Marriage & Family Therapy, Professional Counseling & Social Work obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred.
• Supervisor credentialed from the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services preferred.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate’s degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
