The Power Group is currently seeking an engingeer with experience in medium and high-voltage substation design, who has the passion to manage these projects in our Pittsburgh, PA office location. The Power Group Project Manager will lead a diverse team consisting of engineers, architects, scientists, designers, drafters and administrators to deliver industry leading power projects with a focus on substation engineering.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
  • 10+ years of experience in power delivery - medium to high voltage (12 kV to 345 kV)
  • 3+ years project management experience
  • Candidate must be a registered, licensed professional engineer (PE)
  • Experience in project design oversight for power projects
  • Be a team player and be self-motivated with an entrepreneurial perspective
  • Ability to provide leadership to project teams from project conception to completion
  • Experience managing and meeting tight deadlines and budgets
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication and effective managements kills
  • Must be an effective teacher and be able to mentor entry level engineers
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and be capable of periodic overnight travel

Responsibilities:

  • Manage / oversee multi-discipline projects to develop conceptual designs, estimates, design drawings and technical specifications
  • Prepare project estimates and proposals
  • Provide project management support from concept to completion of substation design projects including direct client interface, planning, scope development and adherence, schedule development, creating estimates, contract review and risk management
  • Perform Quality Control and Quality Assurance reviews for adherence to scope of work from design to drawing standards
  • Support construction activity via field inspections and remote communication
  • Support business development on proposal activities and development of new opportunities
  • Monitor and work closely to ensure project deliverables are on time and under budget
  • Assist with and assure that all QA/QC efforts follow internal protocol
  • Report status to the project team and Practice Leader
