JOB SUMMARY

As a Laboratory Assistant for our histology team located at the Senneville site, you will ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of all work areas, maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment, and ensure that the laboratory and preparation rooms have sufficient product inventory.

In this role, responsibilities may include:

  • Perform technical tasks according to standard operating procedures (SOP) and good laboratory practices (GLP) and health and safety rules.
  • Perform certain technical tasks (assembly, embedding, cutting, circulation, dissection, etc.).
  • Prepare more complex solutions such as Chromium Alum, Hematoxylin & Eosin
  • Prepare studies according to information received from team leaders/specialist technicians.
  • Maintain laboratory supplies (solutions, equipment).
  • Maintain the disposal and/or recycling of used solutions and hazardous materials.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of equipment and laboratories (equipment, dishes, etc.).
  • Prepare material for shipping and archiving.
  • Classify the specimens.
  • Perform any other related tasks as assigned.
