JOB SUMMARY

As a Surgery Assistant Technician for our Veterinary Services team in Senneville, you will be responsible for supporting daily surgical and anesthesia activities. Your contribution will ensure the health of our animals, as well as the integrity of our pre-clinical studies.

In this role, primary responsibilities include:

  • Ensure the well-being, health and safety of animals during procedures
  • Maintaining surgical instruments and equipment in proper working order (cleaning, care and sterilization)
  • Maintaining surgical suites and support spaces
  • Ensuring adequate supplies in surgical suites
  • Ensuring rotation of stock and absence of expired material

KEY ELEMENTS

We are looking for the following minimum qualifications for this role:

  • Student in Animal Health Technology, Bioecology or equivalent
  • Veterinary Medicine student
  • Able to work physically (lift up to 20 kg, walk, stand, stoop, etc.)
  • Understanding of written English is mandatory. Bilingualism French and English is preferable

Please note that upon being hired, you will have to undergo an annual tuberculosis test at the expense of the company

Responsibilities:

ROLE SPECIFIC INFORMATION:

  • Location: Senneville / Free parking / Shuttle service from Sainte-Anne-De-Bellevue train station and John Abbott College to the Senneville site
  • Salary: $16.25/hrs
  • Premiums:
  • Overtime : Time and a half
  • Holidays: Double time
  • Daytime schedule, Monday to Friday. Regular schedule from 8 am to 4:15 pm, but may be called to change depending on operational needs
  • Temporary position for the summer period, full-time at 37.5hrs per week
