Summer Trainee, Sensors, Competitor Benchmarking

We are looking for Summer Trainee, Sensors, Competitor Benchmarking to join Vaisala’s product development team in our headquarters at Vantaa. During the summer, you will work with measurement devices as a part of a cross-functional R&D team, building class-leading measurement products.

Our technologies can be found where they matter the most, from hospitals, national parks, and data centers to airports and wind farms all over the world – even on Mars!
You will be part of our Sensors R&D team consisting of highly skilled professionals of multiple areas, like HW, SW, Science, UX and operations. You will have an excellent opportunity with the team to deepen your understanding of R&D work, prototype and product testing, performance data analysis and other steps needed to build leading products.
One of your tasks will be competitor benchmarking which consists of creating product performance comparisons (for example of the device’s measurement performance) in various environments. You will report to Senior R&D Project Manager in Sensors.

• Participation in R&D project work.
• Building of test setups for performance testing required by the project, providing valuable input for development and valuable insights on the competitor landscape.
• Studying performance of various products in differing environmental conditions
• Results analysis, summaries, and conclusions in cooperation with the R&D team professionals
• The work will be mostly on-site at Vantaa, with also some remote possibilities depending on the task you are working on
