KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Fashion or Clothing related Diploma
  • Proficient in MS Office/Google Suite Packages
  • Min 4 years of working experience in the clothing industry in a similar role
  • Attention to detail

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

The role is responsible for Pre-production activities, ensuring all fabric and trims are ordered and delivered on time. Managing and controlling the issuing of markers, cutwork, and outwork. To coordinate timeous delivery of Full Bill of Materials to CMT’s to ensure the production process starts on time, as per critical path.
This position reports to the Senior Merchandiser

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receiving Briefs/Line Sheets from Buyers/Designers
  • Generate garment costings on the in-house FastTrack costing and procurement system
  • Suggest garment engineering to get into target cost price and achieving budgeted IMU
  • Negotiating fabric and trim prices with suppliers
  • Quoting Buyers/Designers on briefs
  • Re-costing if changes are made to a style and re-confirm price
  • Ordering fabric and trims and following up to ensure delivery meets critical path due dates
  • Follow-up on sampling
  • Check invoices for all fabric/trims delivered, back to orders placed
  • Send fit approved sealed styles to Marker Makers for grading and marker plotting
  • Check final ratings and validate units against order
  • Adjust costing in the system with the correct rating, units, and width
  • Ensure all trims are in house, checked for approval and ready before styles go for cutting
  • Issue Fabric and Trims Picking list to Fabric and Trim Stores
  • Issuing styles and fabric out for cutting and binding
  • Reconcile cut units against order quantity and adjust costing sheet
  • Raise Fabric / Trim Claims if required
  • Print SKU’s
  • Liaise with suppliers, CMT’s, cutting services
  • Finalise garment PO’s and handover to Dispatch for delivery
  • Updating critical path milestones on FastTrack
  • Attending meetings with Buyers/Designers for feedback on sales and delivery status updates
