- Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or within an appropriate discipline
- Hold or be eligible to qualify for a Queensland First Class Mine Manager Certificate of Competency (or equivalent).

Responsibilities:
This role is a Permanent 4:3 dayshift roster, FIFO from Brisbane, Townsville, Cairns, or DIDO Mt Isa.
As Operations Engineering Superintendent, you will be responsible for the effective organisation and operation of people, processes, and equipment to enable the sustainable delivery of mining team targets for safety, volume, productivity, and cost in alignment with the business plan.
Reporting to the General Manager of Operations, this role is based in a challenging and exciting environment and results in a wide range of duties, including but not limited to:
- Work within the South32 Safety Guarantee including safe & effective leadership of Operations Engineers and Underground Operations team
- Frontline leadership, people management and technical guidance of a large team of Operations Engineers.
- Ensuring all aspects of the mining operations meet all safety, quality, environmental, regulatory and operational standards requirements.
- Manage the short-term planning aspects of daily, weekly and monthly activities of a combined owner-operator & contract mining team to ensure that plans are effective, compliance is achieved, costs are minimised, and the operating budget is achieved in the identified KPIs;
