Neuroradiography Practice, Education and Development (PED) Superintendent Radiographer
The Neuroradiology department at UCLH Queen Square Division is seeking a highly experienced diagnostic radiographer to lead on continuous professional development, education and training of a rapidly-expanding specialist neuroradiography workforce. This post will lead the department in all areas of neuroimaging training and development, including frontline training and competencies, and contribute to the development, planning and organisation of the continuous professional development of staff (i.e. CPD sessions, audits, training courses, course funding applications, linking in with NCL and HEE practice educators, etc.)
The post holder must be committed and driven to providing a high-quality learning experience, passionate about developing and growing our workforce to be fit for the future, and dedicated to delivering the highest possible standards of care in the department. This role will have a particular focus on MRI, but will also support our wider neuroimaging training programme including CT and interventional radiology.
This role will support learners in the clinical setting and provide stability and consistency throughout their training by providing frontline clinical supervision, education and assessment for all levels and types of learners within our workforce. The post holder will provide direct line management, technical and clinical expertise, and leadership for a team of staff. During clinical time, the post-holder will work as a specialist diagnostic practitioner in Radiology and be responsible for a variable caseload of patients.
Patients will present with a full range of complex conditions and the post holder will be responsible for carrying out the appropriate diagnostic procedures to support the diagnosis of complex conditions on whilst providing clinical training of radiographers.
The post requires close working with both Operational Lead Superintendents and Modality Superintendents to ensure provision of a high-quality and responsive Neuroradiology service and will be have some remit in service management. Project management skills are desirable as the post holder will be required to regularly report on PED workstream progress and outcomes to senior management.
