Supermarket Cashier

REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience as a cashier or in a customer service role.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent math skills for calculating prices, discounts, and change.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in processing transactions.
• Friendly and approachable demeanor with a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.

• Greet customers with a warm and friendly demeanor as they approach the checkout counter.
• Scan and ring up items accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Process payments by cash, credit/debit cards, mobile payments, and other forms of payment, and provide change or receipts as needed.
• Bag groceries and other purchased items neatly and carefully, ensuring proper handling and protection of products.
• Assist customers with locating items, answering questions about products or prices, and providing information about store promotions or policies.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization at the checkout counter, including cleaning conveyor belts, counters, and scanners.
• Monitor and resolve any issues or discrepancies related to pricing, products, or payments, and escalate complex issues to the supervisor or manager as needed.
• Follow all company policies and procedures regarding cash handling, security, and customer service.
