Description:
JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to other Accounting department leadership, the Accounting Supervisor serves as the first tier of department management to help lead the daily finance operations of Rady Children’s Hospital and Health Center and other contracted entities. Responsible for the recording and reporting of financial transactions of specific business lines. Serves as a representative of the finance division across RCHHC and its business partners. Provides accounting expertise and actively supports efforts to maintain financial integrity. Leads projects and participates in process improvement initiatives. Directly manages small numbers of accounting workforce. Plans and implements effective inter-departmental communication and meetings. Conducts meetings with staff, assists in setting priorities, and provides resource development with and for staff.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree
Area of Study in a Field Related to the Position
4 Years of Experience
Experience in service industry sector or public accounting with service industry clients for one to four years
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Understanding of financial reporting and financial audit methodology, with ability to improve processes
Advanced MS Office skills with emphasis in Excel and financial reporting software skills
Must be able to effectively manage personnel
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Experience articulating nuanced financial results to senior management
Proven experience interpreting business documents and other documentation to extract relevant financial information
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s Degree
6 Years of Experience
Certified Mmgt Accountant
Certified Public Accountant
Experience in healthcare or in public accounting with healthcare clients for six to ten years
Evaluates financial system solutions and can make recommendations to improve productivity and increase efficiency
The expected hiring range for this position is $43.57 to $59.91
