REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree - Information Management, Computer Science, Business Management, Information Services, or a clinical discipline. Or equivalent educ/experience.
  • 4 years - Same or similar primary duties working with a clinical information systems within a healthcare setting.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s Degree - Information Management, Computer Science, Business Management, Information Services, or a clinical discipline.
  • 1 Year - Leadership, Change Management, Project Management, Process Improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic:
  • Supervises projects with operational importance for the Clinical Informatics Team.
  • Participates in committees with cross-functional teams within Information Services and throughout the system.
  • Provides input to Manager on operational strategies for Information Services, including support, education, and communications.
  • Responsible for staff development and performance of Clinical Informatics staff.
  • Management:
  • Under direction of the Manager the Supervisor will assist with hiring, training, and developing staff to ensure the department has both the technical and organizational skills to effectively maintain operations and support as measured by meeting the established service levels.
  • Provides troubleshooting assistance to leads and non-leads when necessary.
  • Monitors work volumes and coordinates team.
  • Manages team schedule.
  • Provides input for employee performance appraisals.
  • Provides leadership in staff development and team building.
  • Leads team in development and maintenance of standards, procedures and performance requirements.
  • Ability to collect and process monthly audits and report findings to Manager.
  • Conducts and oversees evaluations and establishes performance goals of the staff; resolves disciplinary problems, grievances, and other sensitive personnel matters.
  • Build and strengthen the team by understanding and supporting priorities for Information Services and operational business plans.
  • Supervises the team and provides the Manager with consultations regarding workplace challenges and challenging employee situations.
  • Partners with ministry leaders and acts as a liaison, problem solver, and facilitator for the impact that information systems have on the delivery of patient care and customer support.
  • Operational:
  • Evaluates and recommends optimizations to processes; offers suggestions for new approaches to enhance customer and team satisfaction.
  • Audits and enforces adherence to standard processes.
  • Provides positive and supportive work environment and leadership using the goals and objectives of Information Services and Providence Saint Joseph Health.
  • Supports enhancing employees’ expertise to maintain/develop knowledge, skills, abilities, and attitudes which promote excellence and productive team-oriented performance.
  • Promotes and encourages positive team problem solving to empower employees to act effectively to cause change.
  • Escalates critical issues, problems or delays in production, projects or any other issues that has an impact on the customer.
  • Partners with clinical informatics to facilitate education for clinicians on application features and procedures.
  • Supervision:
  • Responsible for 15-20 Direct Reports and Assisting with Leadership of up to 60 team members
  • Caregivers are primarily remote, experience in leading remote teams is preferred
  • Team has 24/7 Responsibilities – leaders in this role can expect on-call responsibilities and may be needed for implementation support over a weekend
  • Support Provided across Multiple Time Zones – This may occasionally require an earlier or later meeting than standard business hours
