Description:

SKILLS FOR SUCCESS:

  • Strong written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience drafting news releases, media statements and talking points.
  • Demonstrated ability working with cross-functional groups across an organization and with outside vendors, building consensus and driving clarity.
  • Adept at working with imperfect/ambiguous information and tight deadlines.
  • Agency and project management experience preferred.
  • Media monitoring experience preferred, including 1-2 years of experience with tools like Talkwalker, Hootsuite, Meltwater, Cision, Muck Rack or similar.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 3-5 years of experience in corporate communications and/or public relations.
  • Experience in crisis management ideal, with an emphasis in media relations.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.

Responsibilities:

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

We are seeking a Corporate Affairs Supervisor to join our dynamic communications team. The supervisor will help protect and enhance DaVita’s brand, including issues management and crisis response strategy and execution. The successful candidate will be a results-driven team player with who takes initiative, builds consensus and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Communications strategy - Work with the corporate affairs team to develop and implement cross-channel communications strategies spanning earned media, sponsored content, internal communications and owned channels (like social) that advance and/or protect DaVita’s reputation. Build relationships across the business and with key external stakeholders to help tell DaVita’s story from a clinical, policy/regulatory and labor relations perspective.
  • Issues management – Help identify potential risk areas and develop communications plans and materials in anticipation of brand-impacting events.
  • Media relations – Understand the media landscape surrounding DaVita at both the local and national levels, uncover/story mine for angles that media will want to pursue (e.g. natural disaster support) and make recommendations on reporters and outlets to engage.
  • Media monitoring/intelligence – Manage media intelligence operations for the team, including oversight of media monitoring, distribution of relevant stories and identification of conversations where DaVita should have a voice.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The position will not have official supervisory responsibilities.
