SUPERVISOR, FACILITIES OPERATIONS

Crosslinx Transit Solutions – Maintenance (CTSM) is currently seeking an enthusiastic, results oriented Supervisor, Facilities Operations who will effectively supervise, direct and coordinate the work of Facility Maintenance Technicians (FMT’s), which includes Preventative/Corrective Maintenance, Help Desk Service Events and Emergency Response for the Eglinton Crosstown Light Rail Transit Line (ECLRT) Infrastructure System maintenance of the Eglinton Maintenance and Storage Facility (EMSF), Stations and Stops. This is a long-term career opportunity in an exciting growing industry.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5 or more years of experience working in a similar role, and experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), is preferred.
  • Comprehensive working knowledge and understanding of maintenance and management procedures and techniques applicable to the preventative maintenance, repair, maintenance of complex building facilities, which includes general parts, electrical, mechanical, transit facility equipment, and facility structures.
  • Ability to plan and direct activities of a skilled and semi-skilled workforce; previous supervisory experience is required.
  • Experience working in a P3 environment is a definite asset.
  • Sound judgement, initiative, problem solving, analytical and interpersonal skills, which includes excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Is detail oriented and have strong attention to detail.
  • Community College Certificate or Diploma in a related field, and/or a Certificate of Qualification in a skilled construction trade, combined with several years of related work experience in a similar environment is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Ministry of Environment Regulations, Ontario Building Code, Ontario Fire Code, Employment Standards Act, Ontario Human Rights Code.
  • Must have a valid non-probationary Class “G” Province of Ontario Driver’s License in good standing.

WHO WE ARE?

Crosslinx Transit Solutions (CTS) is a P3 consortium comprised of EllisDon, Atkins Realis, Aecon, and ACS – Dragados. CTS has been selected by Metrolinx and Infrastructure Ontario to deliver the (ECLRT) Project. CTSM is part of this joint venture and will provide Maintenance and Rehabilitation Services for System Assets of the 19-kilometre ECLRT for a 30-year contract term.,

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Manager – Facility Operations, the Supervisor, Facilities Operations is responsible to:

  • Work with the Asset Management Planner (AMP) to coordinate scheduled Preventive/Corrective Maintenance activities, at the train maintenance facility, and the infrastructure along the Eglinton LRT line. This includes scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, inspecting, testing and/or directing the work of 22 Facility Maintenance Technicians (FMT’s) through a 24-7 facility management and transit operations environment.
  • During emergency situations, respond to and direct the work of the FMT’s to support corrective efforts and provide management support in troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Work with the Inventory Warehouse Analyst to assure spare parts are on hand for required work/tasks.
  • Manage and supervise all aspects of work performed by the various building trades and areas of specialization, such as but not limited to electrical maintenance, fire suppression, fire life systems safety, plumbing, HVAC, all other trades, disciplines for a 24-7 hour operation.
  • Confirm work specifications with applicable Building Codes.
  • Inspect work progress to ensure proper specifications, quality assurance, safety protocols and SOPs are followed.
  • Plan materials and labour based on work required and/or scheduled for daily activities.
  • Maintain proper tools, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), supplies, materials, etc. to perform the work required and/or scheduled for daily activities.
  • Maintain records, prepare reports, and compose correspondence relative to the work.
  • Co-ordinate Contracts to ensure contractor work is completed and meets specified requirements and contractual scope.
  • Identify training and/or certification needs for the FMT’s.
  • Evaluate performance through annual performance reviews.
  • Perform tasks on an as needed basis.
