Location: Robert Lee YMCA: Vancouver, BC
Terms: Full-time, Term
Shift: 35 hours per week, hours of work include some evenings to meet program needs
Salary: $54,000-$57,000
Start Date: As soon as possible
End Date: June 30, 2024
Reports to: Manager, Y Mind

NATURE AND SCOPE:

We are seeking a Mind Medicine Supervisor to support Mind Medicine programs across Canada. The Mind Medicine Supervisor will work collaboratively with the YMCA BC – Great Vancouver Region Mental Wellness Team, other YMCAs in Canada and Mind Medicine Partnerships to coordinate the delivery of Mind Medicine Programs across Canada.
The Mind Medicine Supervisor is responsible for the coordination of partnership delivery of Mind Medicine including, developing relationships with Indigenous serving organizations, working with established Mind Medicine partnership sites, contract management and onboarding new partnerships.
The Mind Medicine Supervisor provides guidance and support for partnerships during their delivery of Mind Medicine including advising on marketing and promotions, recruitment and curriculum-delivery.
The Mind Medicine Supervisor will hold a high level of knowledge and understanding of Indigenous-serving organizations across Canada and of the Mind Medicine program. They will use these expertise to support YMCAs in Canada who offer Y Mind programs to establish and maintain Mind Medicine Partnerships with Indigenous serving organizations.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong understanding of reconciliation and decolonization, particularly in relation to working in the mental wellness field and with Indigenous communities
  • Experience in partnership development and management
  • Experience working with or supporting programming for teens and youth
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills
  • University degree in health promotion, mental health, recreation, youth care or related field an asset, Masters Degree preferred
  • Strong administrative & organization skills including proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated experience in community outreach and promoting community-based programs through partnership building
  • Ability to recognize mental health signs and symptoms beyond mild-moderate spectrum and provide appropriate referrals
  • Ability to be flexible, adaptable and multi-task in a high demand environment
  • Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Reference Check/Vulnerable Sector Search issued no later than six (6) months preceding your start date
