Description:
LOCATION/DIVISION SPECIFIC INFORMATION
The Manufacturing Supervisor role is located in Middletown, Virginia, a vital site to the Clinical Diagnostics Division. This location based role provides leadership, strategy planning and day-to-day execution to liquid filling and packaging operations team in a medical device operation.
This role is a day shift role, Monday - Friday, with occasional off hour support needed.

Supervise employees in the production, filling, and packaging of reagents, calibrators, controls and/or systems fluids on hand and automated filling and packaging equipment to approved standards and specifications. Strict adherence to procedures and ability to clearly document results is crucial.
A day in the Life:
- Develop and mentor team leaders and production associates on good manufacturing practices, quality based workflows and precise documentation.
- Develop and advance lean principles, tools, and techniques through leadership and training which will enhance value and minimize waste to enable positive change within the site.
- Lead, participate and/or support kaizen workshops; monitor progress, maintain database, metrics, pre-workshop, and follow up on post workshop activities.
- Collaborate closely with operations planners on production scheduling, resource forecasting and overall production capacity utilization.
- Leads by example - using standard work and daily targets to ensure lines are fulfilling customer demands on target
- Identifies departmental barriers and leads functional teams to implement improvements having a corporate impact. Participates on, and may lead, cross-functional teams having a corporate impact.

- Review performance of personnel as required and documents required performance enhancement plan as needed or any other disciplinary actions that may be required.

Keys to Success:
EDUCATION
- High School diploma required. Associates degree or other continuing education preferred.
EXPERIENCE
- Three (3) years relevant manufacturing leadership experience required.
- Prior experience in a medical device, diagnostics or regulated industry highly preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
- Ability to develop, lead and mentor team leaders and production associates
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English, including technical and scientific language
- Excellent written and typed documentation and record keeping skills
- Must be comfortable with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook and other computer based applications.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment is required.
- The employee is occasionally required to lift, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Ability to wear garments suitable for a cleanroom environment, such as cleanroom gown, hair net, beard cover (if applicable), gloves safety shoes and shoe covers. Makeup and jewelry are prohibited in cleanroom environments.
