Cadia is located in Central Western New South Wales, approximately 25 kms outside the vibrant regional township of Orange and a convenient three hours from the capital city of Sydney. Who we’re looking for
Reporting to the Superintendent - Cadia East Fixed Plant, the Underground Mechanical Supervisor will ensure the assets within the Cadia East Underground mine, Ridgeway Underground mine and ancillary infrastructure, are maintained to allow the operation to achieve or exceed safety and production targets.
The Supervisor will ensure the safety of the fixed plant team is paramount, maintain and operate the Ore Handling System at world class availability levels and support the Cadia East Shutdown team.

Key responsibilities

  • Actively involving and supporting the Underground Mechanical Superintendent in incident investigations and completion of actions.
  • Building and maintaining a positive, productive team culture that promotes a team of high achieving and skilled Technicians.
  • Engage with the Shutdown team to ensure preparation for the upcoming outages, with attention to detail on work orders, contractor management and system readiness.
  • Maintain relationships between the Mining, Engineering, Planning, and Supply Departments as well as relevant contracting companies.
  • Ensure compliance to completion of all pre-start checks on mobile equipment/vehicles, welders, lifting equipment, overhead cranes etc.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to multi task in high pressure situations.

You will also possess the following:

  • Trade qualification – Mechanical or fixed plant
  • Demonstrated significant experience in underground Fixed Plant Maintenance in a mining environment
  • Sound experience with Microsoft suite including SAP
