We are looking for a Supplier Development Engineer in Supply Management in Wärtsilä Marine Power, Power Supply, to work in the Automation category with engine related electrical systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Successfully lead suppliers in optimising electronic parts’ production process and quality control resulting in reduction in manufacturing defects and increased cost efficiency
  • Actively support new product introduction and lead systematic quality assurance activities for the new electronic parts/products
  • Analyse supplier performance, identify development opportunities and drive the development actions
  • Develop and execute supplier development action plans to improve supplier performance
  • Support suppliers with their operational efficiency and development initiatives in relation to cost, quality and delivery
  • Execute supplier audits and audit follow-up according to supplier development action plan
  • Act as a point of contact for suppliers with escalated issues
  • Actively participate in the component category team action plan creation, application and decision making
