Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer in the electrical/electronic field within manufacturing / engineering / automotive industries. This individual will be an enthusiastic and capable individual with a hands-on approach to Quality prepared to lead by example to instill a mindset of Quality first within a busy supply chain. You will need to demonstrate the ability to manage a high degree of change within an organisation.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage part approval processes for parts on new projects, ensuring that all builds from prototype to production builds have the right part, to the right Quality and at the right time (PPAP)
  • Validate completed PPAP elements at supplier site where required
  • Complete SPR on critical/NNN parts at suppliers, utilising the APQP checklist
  • Diagnose current areas at suppliers required for improvement, including supplier assessment (NCA) gap closure
  • Develop and monitor supplier improvement plans
  • New supplier identification and approval in conjunction with Purchasing
  • Conduct process & product audits at suppliers, identify opportunities for improvement for known and potential quality concerns
  • Evaluate corrective actions (M3) on Chronic concerns for effectiveness. Progress to M4 (read across) & M5 (Standardisation) where applicable
  • Customer/warranty return flowdown and link to warranty agreement system – DCN’s implemented on time
