Responsibilities:
Ensure the quality and reliability of products and materials sourced from external suppliers. You’ll collaborate closely with suppliers, internal teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and maintain high standards of quality.
- Assess potential suppliers based on quality standards, capabilities, and performance history.
- Collaborate with procurement teams to select suppliers aligned with organizational quality goals.
- Develop, implement, and maintain a robust quality assurance program for supplier evaluation and monitoring.
- Define quality requirements, inspection criteria, and acceptance standards.
- Conduct regular supplier audits to evaluate compliance with quality systems, processes, and specifications.
- Identify areas for improvement and work with suppliers to address deficiencies.
- Investigate and resolve quality-related issues promptly.
- Collaborate with suppliers to implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for supplier quality.
- Monitor supplier performance, track metrics, and provide regular reports to management.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain.
- Implement lean methodologies, Six Sigma principles, and other quality improvement tools.
- Assess and mitigate risks related to supplier quality.
- Develop risk mitigation plans and contingency strategies.
- Work closely with design, engineering, production, and logistics teams to ensure seamless integration of supplier quality processes.
- Provide training to suppliers on quality standards, processes, and expectations.
- Foster a culture of quality excellence.
