    Mō te tūranga | About the Role
    As Supplier Resilience Lead, you will lead the Supplier Resilience Team within Procurement. The Supplier Resilience Team is made up of a group of highly motivated subject matter experts. As the people leader, you will manage and mentor this team of business continuity professionals to effectively assess the resilience (business continuity, crisis management and disaster recovery) capabilities of Westpac’s material suppliers to reduce compliance risk to Westpac. Your team is responsible for ensuring our suppliers have adequate resilience planning and testing, to validate that in a disruptive event their services can continue and not negatively impact, our customers and/or the Westpac business. This is a regulatory requirement under the Reserve Bank BS11 policy.

    To be successful, you will be a supportive and empowering team leader, detail orientated, and able to work effectively and calmly with senior Westpac and Supplier stakeholders.

Additionally, you will bring:

  • Excellent understanding and appreciation of business continuity management practices and principles, including in-depth knowledge of BS11 and international BCM standards promoted by the Business Continuity Institute (BCI) and ISO.
  • CBCI or greater certification/membership.
  • Expertise in regulatory compliance.
  • Attention to detail, and an appreciation for evidence-based risk assessments.
  • Excellent communication skills, especially related to facilitation, documentation, and reporting.
  • Highly developed relationship management, influencing and leadership skills.
  • Poise and ability to act calmly and competently in high-pressure, high-stress situations.
  • Strong organisation skills.
  • Previous banking knowledge is helpful.
