JOB DESCRIPTION

Doka MEAAP is currently looking to recruit a career-driven Supply Business Partner MEAAP to join its versatile team located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The suitable candidate will play a pivotal role in leading strategic procurement process and supporting the development of tools for optimising the purchasing supply chain.

Reporting to the Head of Procurement MEAAP, this role requires an enthusiastic individual who will be responsible for building relationships with countries within their area of responsibility, as well as their teams, and working with the Head of Procurement Area to ensure that global, regional, and country objectives are met.

You will be responsible for:

  • Identifying the critical requirements of the key business stakeholders and delivering commercial services to meet their expectations effectively
  • Ensuring maximum value is derived from all third-party spend within the portfolio by developing and implementing material group strategies across all areas of spend, including tools and processes
  • Implementing procurement sourcing strategies (demand, supplier, process, portfolio management) in line with strategic sourcing and material group management processes, which include:
  • Identifying internal customer needs
  • Building and benchmarking Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) models
  • Executing global & area procurement strategies
  • Arranging testing/piloting of new technologies and alternative suppliers
  • Managing the existing supply base through:
  • Maintaining spend data in systems and ensuring accuracy
  • Managing contracts
  • Conducting supply risk management
  • Monitoring supplier performance, developing suppliers, and resolving issues
  • Exploring opportunities for supplier contribution to innovation
  • Leading negotiations by:
  • Collecting all necessary information to prepare for negotiations
  • Developing and defining negotiation strategies
  • Formalizing contracts
  • Communicating and rolling out contracts
  • Communicating procurement topics to internal partners, including Head of Innovation Hub Asia, Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams
  • Supporting process optimization activities within the procurement function

Providing guidance on procurement management matters to the country team

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Production/Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, and/or related disciplines
  • Minimum five years of experience in a similar role dealing with the steel, wood, and aluminum materials, standards, and specifications in the Asia Pacific markets
  • Experience with procurement processes including product development and global sourcing
  • Knowledge in manufacturing and fabrication processes/standards, material standards/grades, certifications, testing standards, and welding standards and processes
  • Strong negotiation and contracting skills and able to prepare cost estimation and cost models
  • Good background knowledge of supplier markets in the Asia Pacific region
  • Excellent proficiency in English
  • Strong communication skills with conciseness and clarity to multiple stakeholders, such as internal stakeholders, customers, and suppliers
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects while adhering to strict deadlines and budgets
  • Ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment
  • Willingness to travel and be mobile (up to 50% of the time)
