Role Context
The Supply Chain Coordinator role is a key role within the Supply Chain function. Reporting to the Supply Team Manager, it is a multi-skilled role, primarily coordinating Labour Activities. There will also be the requirement to cover other aspects of the Supply Chain, such as Payroll, MRP Control, Production Recording, and Sale of Waste. This is to allow multi skilling within the department and to ensure cover is available for 24/7 manufacturing. This role is based at the Manchester site and is Mon-Fri, 08:15 - 17:00PM , although flexibility may be requested or required.
This will require strong working relationship with the HR, L&D and Operational Planning Teams, the Manufacturing team (Manufacturing Managers and Manufacturing Team Managers), Technical, Engineering and Finance Teams on site.

The key focus of this role, within the Supply Chain Team, is to:

  • Ensure that the Site has the labour required to deliver the production plan, with at least 90% auto-deployment accuracy.
  • Ensure production plan incorporates preparation, cleaning, maintenance, projects and NPD activity.
  • To record labour activity accurately and to agreed timescales.
  • To conduct daily labour meetings with Team Managers and Line Coordinators, to ensure alignment of planned deployment vs actual deployment.
  • To deliver the defined Supply Chain metrics (i.e. conformance to plan (CTP), internal service level (ISL)).
  • To ensure working capital targets are delivered.
  • To ensure the labour pool is resourced to cover ongoing requirements.

Key Deliverables

Labour Deployment:

  • Labour deployment planning, ensuring sufficient numbers and skills are available to support the delivery of the weekly schedule.
  • Manage the input of labour allocation into SAP Labour Management (SAPLM) system.
  • Forecast and book agency requirements and approve and reconcile daily deployment figures.
  • Ensure SAPHR and LM master data is maintained, up to date and accurate, fully supporting the auto deployment process.
  • Auditing key elements of SAPHR data feeding into SAPLM is audited to ensure accuracy.
  • Maintain SAPHR/Absence Manager with relevant absence data.
  • Support SAPLM development and site activities which impact on labour such as training, health screening and H&S activity.
  • Complete labour data admin to support generation of the daily performance report.
  • Enter holidays, F1 and other absence data into SAPHR, and manage holidays within site quotas and HR guidelines.
  • Covering for time and attendance activities such as swipe ins etc.

Training and Skill Gaps:

  • Flag gaps in key skills/numbers and propose solutions, collaborating with Learning & Development Coordinator for any training requirements.
  • Ensure, through a structured and focussed training plan, a balanced portfolio of skills across the labour pool as a whole and teams within the labour pool.
  • Support the SQSE team in ensuring that metal detector training is kept up to date, providing labour where necessary to support the training days.

Skills & Experience

Essential Criteria:

  • IT literate - good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc).
  • Presentation skills (including to the Site Leadership Team).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Able to influence.
  • Able to work autonomously with a multi-stranded workload.
  • Able to work as part of a team in a fast-moving environment.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Level 3 Food Hygiene.
  • Level 3 Food Safety.
  • Basic payroll knowledge.
  • Understanding of manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of systems such as SAP, Autostore, Shopfloor Online – but full training will be provided.
