THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a highly motivated leader to join our Sustainment Operations Supply Chain Management team. This role is pivotal in executing critical supply chain functions and leading the team responsible for sustaining the P8-A Poseidon aircraft for the Royal Australian Air Force at RAAF Base Edinburgh.
Daily responsibilities will include:
- Act as the accountable central point of contact for all program Supply Chain deliverables.
- Operate as part of the program leadership team, providing specialist supply chain and sub contractor management advice regarding program initiatives and strategic decisions.
- Develop and lead the delivery of supply functions for the program including areas such as; Supply Chain Services, Sub Contractor Management, Repairable Items Management, Supplier Relationships, and warehousing strategy.
- Engage and develop employees through creating a positive culture across a diverse team. Including; direct reported staff, sub-contractor teams, broader supply base and the customer.
- Conduct strategic workforce planning including the provision of resources to meet multiple program and project demands.
- Nurture and promote a culture of continuous improvement and productivity by identifying opportunities in current established practice.
- Enable collaboration across programs to identify and leverage commonalities, innovation and efficiencies.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
The successful applicant will have:
- Extensive knowledge of supply chain and procurement requirements in a military or commercial aviation environment.
- Demonstrated experience in a strategic supply chain and/or contracting environment
- Tertiary qualifications and experience in a field of relevance to Supply Chain, Contracting Business, and/or Supplier Management.
- Experience within a multifunctional team within a matrix organisation (desirable)
Responsibilities:
The Boeing Defence Australia Supply Chain Management (SCM) Capability is responsible for the following areas:
- Strategic planning, governance and procurement analytics,
- Requirements planning and forecasting, and procurement,
- Supplier performance management and contracting, and
- Logistics and field service support
