Around 3,500 farmers based in East Anglia and the East Midlands supply our four advanced manufacturing sites with eight million tonnes of sugar beet every year. Supply Chain Materials Planning Apprenticeship
Job Purpose
Reporting to the Supply Planning Manager, you will be responsible for the materials planning process in British Sugar. You will monitor production requirements & stocks, create purchase orders, and work with colleagues in operations, planning and procurement to optimise the process. You will also support the planning team with contributions to the wider Business Planning process as required which will provide you with the opportunity to have exposure to wider British Sugar Supply Chain.
This role is completed in conjunction with a Level 6 Apprenticeship and could lead to broader development within the planning team.
Your core accountabilities
Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders (planning, operations & procurement) and external suppliers.
Maintain data in support of the Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) process (minimum order quantities, lead times, stocks & prices)
Ensure continuous availability of packaging to all sites, while staying within the constraints of storage
Continuous improvement of the MRP process
Creating and administration of purchase orders, including resolution of accounting issues
Be a positive member of the Business Planning team supporting colleagues with the wider planning process as required.
Use and advocate of a systemised process approach. Process expert for MRP within systems
Highlight risks and opportunities to the Business Planning team.
