Description:

Service Metal is currently seeking to hire a talented, motivated, and positive person to be our new Supply Management Specialist. This person will be an integral part of our supply chain team, supporting our company’s continued expansion and growth. The Supply Management Specialist will be expected to be an in-office position with flexibility regarding hours and occasional work from home.
Service Metal is a Master Distributor of industrial pipe fittings, valves, and flanges. We promote a positive employee culture by providing a supportive environment and generous benefits. REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Strong grasp of statistical analysis to to outcomes (fill and turns).
  • Experience with placing purchase orders with foreign and domestic vendors.
  • Experience working in supply chain management or related roles.
  • Must be able to manage projects independently.
  • Must be able to work without direct daily supervision.

THIS IS AN IN-OFFICE ROLE, WITH OFFICE ATTENDANCE REQUIRED AT OUR ST. LOUIS CORPORATE LOCATION. THERE IS FLEXIBILITY IN HOURS.

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Supply Chain Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management, logistics, and procurement. The Supply Chain Specialist will play a crucial role in optimizing our supply chain processes, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services.

SOME OF THE ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage end-to-end supply chain operations, including procurement, logistics, and inventory management.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Analyze supply chain data to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast demand, plan production schedules, and optimize inventory levels.
  • Monitor and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any issues or delays.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms and pricing.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate supply chain disruptions.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in supply chain management.
  • Optimizing inventory levels to support customer delivery on time.
  • Creating purchase orders for vendors both direct and indirect material.
  • Look for cost reduction in products and shipping.
  • Assist with container scheduling and management.
  • Work together as a team with other supply management specialists to accomplish goals.
