Description:

We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Supply Planner within our Bedding team to help support our International Spring business. As a Supply Planner you will have the opportunity to manage material requirements and work with stakeholders across the supply chain. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by ensuring optimal service levels and working capital and cost performance. Responsibilities:

SO, WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING AS A SUPPLY PLANNER?

  • Develop material requirements plan based on the works orders required to meet the demand plan.
  • Work closely with production and customer service to ensure all internal customer requirements are satisfied.
  • Place orders with suppliers and manage all correspondence with suppliers for order management.
  • Check on status of orders to ensure on plan and take any corrective action as necessary to ensure supply on time and in full.
  • Manage the system to ensure orders, inventory, and invoice accuracy through Bills of Materials.
  • Maintain multiple suppliers for competitiveness and security of supply.
  • Be the main point of communication for all issues related to materials.
  • Lead the periodic stock takes and cycle counting processes to ensure required levels of accuracy.
  • Ensure no stockouts and materials managed within agreed limits.
  • Work with production and logistics to ensure no materials become aged or obsolete.
  • Ensure the most competitive market prices are realized.
  • Maintain KPIs on materials management and supplier performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement withing materials management.
  • Any additional duties as required.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, YOU’LL NEED:

  • 3-5 years of planning experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of demand, supply, inventory and planning dynamics and concepts such as MRP, JIT, lean, and theory of constraints.
  • Good level of English and Mathematics.
  • High degree of computer literacy.
  • Microsoft Excel use of functions and some model building.
  • APICS or similar qualification desired.
