Contract: part-time (28 h / week), initially fixed-term for 2 years followed by the option of a subsequent employment contract with an infinite duration
In our secondary school about 450 students are learning and preparing for the Cambridge IGCSE and IBDP final exams. Our excellent academic results benchmarked against the International Schools’ Assessment and the IGCSE and IB Diploma international examinations, are proof of the quality education we provide at Leipzig International School. The school is fully accredited by the Council of International Schools as well as the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.

ABOUT US

Leipzig International School gGmbH is a non-profit, independent educational institution that operates a kindergarten as well as an all-day school with a primary school with integrated after-school care and a secondary school. At present, nearly 1100 students from local and international families study at our institution from the age of one until they reach university entrance qualifications. The teaching language is English. German is taught as a compulsory subject. Our concept focuses on global-openness, internationality, and diversity, and thus on our overall motto “Learning to be a citizen of the world”. Our 250 staff members from 37 nations work together to create a stimulating and interesting learning environment for all children and students. Since 2014, Leipzig International has been located at two sites: the primary school and secondary school (grades 1 to 12) are located at Könneritzstraße 47 / Schleußig, the Leipzig International Kindergarten at Karl-Heine-Straße 95 / Plagwitz. Furthermore, there is the Käferhaus at Gleisstraße 1 / Schleußig, a day-care centre run by Leipziger Kindergarten gGmbH, a subsidiary of Leipzig International School gGmbH.

As the Supply Teacher you will be asked to cover in classes in secondary school for colleagues who are absent from school. Sometimes these will be planned absences for example when teachers attend professional development courses and sometimes they will be last minute when a teacher is sick.
