Falcon focuses on the scientific, technical, and engineering needs of customers charged with defense, homeland security, aerospace technologies, and environmental protection.

SUMMARY:

The Supply Technician will perform clerical and physical tasks in connection with receiving, managing, and shipping goods. The Technician will perform day-to-day routine tasks following established guidelines. When handling unusual non-routine problems, the Technician will receive specific guidance from supervisor or other officials. May direct and coordinate the activities of other workers engaged in handling goods to be shipped or being received.
Responsibilities:

NECESSARY SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Knowledge of the governing supply systems, programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals, or other established guidelines.
  • An understanding of the needs of the organization.
  • Analytical ability to define or recognize the dimension of the problems involved, to collect the necessary data to establish the facts, and take or recommend action based upon application or interpretation of established guidelines.
  • Knowledge or expertise in receiving, shipping, controlling and staging of interim support items IAW DoD applicable warehousing and logistical instructions, standards and requirements.
  • Ability to evaluate materials for proper configurations to meet program requirements.
  • Expertise in material management procedures to include reviewing supply transactions to ensure material requirements are met, inventory review to ensure support of production materials are met, tracking program assets, material procurements and inventory using government material management programs, ensure material is received and accurately recorded in inventory records, process material issue receipts, ensure materials are available according to delivery schedules or shipping schedules.
  • This work requires a variety of well-established warehousing and material handling methods and techniques.
  • Personnel must be proficient in reading and capable of communicating effectively in English, must possess basic math skills and be familiar with the use of personal computers.
  • Shall be capable of standing, bending, lifting, and walking for the majority of the day and shall be capable of lifting and carrying moderately heavy material (up to 50 lbs).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • NIWC (SPAWAR) Material Handling and Warehouse experience Forklift Operators licensing HAZMAT certification.
  • Personnel who operate forklifts or vehicles must have and maintain a valid Operator’s License.
  • Five years warehouse supply and logistics experience, of which, at least two years’ experience was spent performing warehouse duties/operations to include verifying the correctness of incoming and outgoing shipments by comparing items and quantities unloaded or received against bills of lading, invoices, manifests, storage receipts, or other records; checking for damaged goods; insuring that goods are appropriately identified for routing to departments within the establishment; preparing and keeping records of goods received or shipped.
  • Possess and maintain a SECRET Security Clearance.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screen as well as be adequately trained and licensed to perform their assigned tasks.

  • Associates Degree in Business
