Description:

Our Support at Home volunteers offer short term support to people recently discharged from hospital and to provide practical and emotional support to carers in crisis. This includes a weekly companionship call or visit, assistance with shopping and light housework, support to build links with and access other community services, and signposting to other sources of support. The service does not provide personal care or domestic care. We are looking for someone who is able to: - Volunteer at least 3 hours per week between the hours of 9:30am - 5pm Monday - Friday. - Has good communicaiton skills, both verbal and written. - Are warm, friendly and able to empathise with others. - Are reliable and passionate about making a difference to the lives of vulnerable people. - Have held a driving licence for at least 2 years which allows you to drive in the UK. Have access to your own vehicle and be willing to drive a British Red Cross vehicle. Due to the nature of this role, applicants must undergo an Enhanced with Adults barred Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Diversity is something we celebrate.
