About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a Support System Deliverables Officer to join our Hunter Class Frigate Program based in either Adelaide or Melbourne.
Reporting to the Support System Business Operations Manager, this role will support the day to day development and management of the HCFP Support System program operations by reviewing technical publications and overseeing the documentation team’s technical publications review cycle. The role works closely with the technical publication team’s authors, illustrators, editors and collators.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.

Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing Support System deliverables ensuring:
  • Correct Template used,
  • Overall spelling and grammar is checked,
  • Relevant metadata has been added, and
  • Mandatory sections (references, indexing etc) have been included.
  • Coordinating the update, editing and review of the ILS-100 Integrated Support Plan
  • Supporting the quality of Support System Team Deliverables
  • Leading and coordinate the Support System team with their tasks to ensure timely and accurate CDRL delivery
  • Ensuring the status of each deliverable is appropriately recorded, tracked and updated
  • Supporting the update of key metrics regarding technical deliverables,
  • Representing the Support System team on Configuration Management and CDRL control activities in relevant workshops or working groups
  • Liaising with the HCF Configuration Management team to support deliverables delivery
  • Attending meetings as required representing the Support System PMO team.

About YOU

  • Previous experience in a text editing role, ideally within the defence sector (advantageous)
  • Exposure to document writing activities within an engineering, communications, or media environment.
  • Exceptional ability to use good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to perform allocated tasks under pressure/time constraints.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and confidence dealing with all levels of Management and personnel.
  • Good standard of personal organisation and attention to detail.
  • NV1 Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
