About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a Support Systems Engineer to join our Combat Systems and Integration line of business reporting to DDG CSI SE & Support Manager. We are flexible in terms of location and will accept applications from SA and VIC.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.
You will be responsible for operating as part of the broader engineering team within the DDG Systems Engineering and Support Team. Operating in a collaborative environment with both the customer (CoA) and internally with DDG engineering teams to ensure the synthesis & maturation of the DDG Support System as defined by the DDG Support System interface and specification documentation.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare for and support the conduct of the mandated system reviews for the Support System
  • Provide a substantial level of advice and guidance to a range of stakeholders across the Program with respect to Systems Engineering activities associated with the Support System
  • Contribute to/undertake highly complex engineering assignments requiring strong systems engineering knowledge
  • Participate in working groups and technical reviews at varying levels with management and customers
  • Development of requirements through translation of stakeholder needs
  • Contribute to the definition of land based facilities, their planned usage and limitations
  • Review Support System documentation
  • Support mandated system reviews, as required
  • Attend and actively contribute to customer meetings and solutions as required

About YOU

  • Significant experience across the systems engineering lifecycle with a strong support system focus, including: requirements definition and analysis methods; test and integration
  • Strong communication skills, including technical writing and the ability to develop/publish high-quality artefacts
  • Significant experience working with a broad set of internal and external stakeholders and partnering organisations to achieve common goals
  • Extensive working knowledge or demonstrable understanding in one or more of the C4ISREW or Combat System Warfare Domains (i.e. Anti-Air Warfare, Anti-Submarine Warfare and Anti-Surface Warfare) will be highly regarded
  • Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
  • Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
