Riverbank is registered to provide care for adults with Mental Health/Nursing.
Riverbank is designed to support individuals with complex mental health needs. The service will support and enable them to make the transition through person centred care rehabilitation placements to full independent living and social inclusion.
The service will be staffed 24 hours a day by an experienced staff team that includes Recovery Support Staff facilitating a robust rehabilitation programme.
Our primary Care is to those with mental health issues who are over the age of 18 who want to engage in helping themselves to progress into the community.

Recovery Support Worker role involves:

  • Undertaking support duties to residents with varying degrees of mental health illness in line with agreed plans and direction by the clinical team.
  • Working towards attaining as much involvement, independence and choice as possible for residents in the organisation of their daily lives, as determined by the individual programmes and operations policies.
  • Supporting residents to attend and gain new experiences within their local community.
  • Having a willingness to be respectful, accepting and tolerant of the people that require support, ensuring that residents’ needs are met and that the dignity of residents and staff is maintained at all times.
  • Ensuring the upkeep of residents’ records where appropriate along with other unit based administration.
  • Being supportive of residents in all areas identified within the residents’ plan of care with an emphasis on the promotion of progressive interdependence/ social and personal development.
  • Supporting and assisting residents with personal care as identified in agreed plans of care.
  • Assisting in the development of residents personal plans, their implementation and monitoring.
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with residents which will complement and contribute to the care programme and create a pleasant environment in which to live.
  • Participating in the preparation and serving of meals with residents where appropriate, taking into account residents’ personal preferences, choice and the need for a balanced diet.
  • Contributing to the daily running of the home, e.g. shopping, cleaning and involving residents to the limits of their ability in all aspects of normal daily living.
  • Taking part in scheduled day activities with residents in accordance with the care programme and to actively ensure that residents are involved in normal living activities.
  • Contributing to effective communications with residents, their relatives, friends, professional helpers and other members of staff, ensuring the continuity of quality and safety in the provision of personal care services.
  • Accompanying residents on shopping trips and outings and on occasion holidays.
  • Reporting any hazards and defects, with the building or equipment, to your line manager, home manager, or the maintenance person.
  • Possessing the ability to diffuse/resolve stressful situations with the use of effective communication skills.
  • Undertaking training and development courses as required and to contribute to the identification of own training and development needs.
  • Attending all statutory and mandatory training as required by the Company in order to fulfil your duties.
