Purpose:
Crescent Point Energy is currently seeking a Surface Land Analyst Consultant for a 1-year term within our Surface Land Team. The position will be based in Calgary and be responsible for administering, maintaining, and processing documents related to Surface Land matters for lands within Alberta.
Main Responsibilities & Activities:
- Pull Abandonment Schedule and prepare all Surface Packages for Abandonment (D56, Preparing Line Lists, Identifying and requesting third party agreements, Identifying sensitive species)
- Review and audit land acquisition packages received from land service providers
- Analyze surface files and ensure data accuracy
- Ensure all landowner payments are received in a timely manner
- Crown and Freehold Alberta Rental Calendars (Crown Renewals/Amendments)
- Audit and prepare landowner and construction packages
- Input and maintain surface land records in CS
- Register and discharge instruments and encumbrances on title
- Review, code, and track surface invoices
- Work closely with the area coordinators and land agents
- Monitor and address obligations and compliance requirements
- Surface related Lessor Assignments and Landowner Inquiries (Address updates, EFT)
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal departments and external stakeholders
- Assist with projects and other duties as required
- Assisting with Tribunal Demand for Payments – tracking, requesting paying and coordinating with contracts for Working Interest Partners
- Working with third party companies to coordinate infrastructure removal to prepare for reclamation.
- Periodically acquire third party agreements for access for the reclamation team
- Tracking and maintaining Abandonment packages until completed.
- Identify & acquire Temporary Work Space and/or Damages when required
- Identifying corresponding pipelines to abandonment wells
- Communicating with the Abandonment team regarding schedules and having completed packages in a timely manner.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Minimum 5-10 years experience of surface land acquisition (crown and freehold) and land registry practices in Saskatchewan.
- Priority will be given to individuals with Saskatchewan knowledge, but Freehold experience is required.
- Post-secondary education in Surface Land Administration, Business or a similar related field is required.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in CS Explorer, Accumap, Abadata, Microsoft Office, AMS, IRIS and ISC
- Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Team player who enjoys learning and contributing to team goals.
